Who handles your information
ExcelPal’s operator is responsible for the personal information collected through ExcelPal. For privacy requests, contact the support address shown here when customer support opens. This policy covers the website, learning account, purchases, and assistant, not separate services you visit through external links.

Where a legal basis is required, we rely on performance of our contract for your account, purchases, lessons, and requested AI answers; legal obligations for required transaction records; and our legitimate interests in proportionate security, fraud prevention, support, and service administration. Optional device storage uses your consent, which you can withdraw. We do not add advertising or behavioral analytics trackers, sell personal information, or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Service providers and transfers
OpenAI Sites provides hosting and ChatGPT authentication, using Cloudflare-backed database and file services. ChatGPT handles sign-in security; ExcelPal does not receive your password. Stripe processes payments when checkout is enabled. OpenAI’s API processes questions and context when the assistant is connected. The optional Excel add-in page loads Microsoft’s Office JavaScript library to communicate with Excel; workbook values are read locally by that view. These providers may process information in countries other than yours under their applicable terms and safeguards.
For AI requests, ExcelPal sets API response-object storage to off. This does not disable provider abuse-monitoring or all provider retention. ExcelPal separately saves the conversation in your account. Do not submit confidential or sensitive information unless you have assessed that use and have permission.
We may disclose information where legally required, to protect users and the service, or in a business transfer subject to applicable protections. We do not use user workbooks to train an ExcelPal model. Files chosen in the workbook comparison tool are processed in your browser, not uploaded by that comparison feature; text is sent to the assistant only when you submit it.

How long information stays
Account details, preferences, and learning progress remain while your account is in use, unless you request deletion. AI conversations remain until you delete them in the assistant or request account-data deletion. Monthly usage records support allowance enforcement. Order and billing records may need to be retained after account deletion for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or dispute obligations.
We assess deletion requests against these purposes and remove information no longer needed. Infrastructure backups and provider security logs may expire on separate schedules. Optional device saves remain until you clear them or withdraw permission. Your storage choice expires after 180 days; clearing your browser storage also removes it. There is no claim that all account records delete automatically after a fixed interval.
Your choices and rights
You can edit account preferences, delete individual AI conversations, cancel subscriptions, and change cookie settings. Contact the support address shown here when customer support opens to request access, correction, deletion, a copy of your data, or to object to or restrict processing where applicable. We may need to verify that the account is yours. Do not include passwords or payment-card details.
Privacy rights depend on where you live and which laws apply. We will respond within applicable legal time limits and explain any lawful exception. Where available, you may complain to your local privacy regulator. We do not penalize you for exercising applicable privacy rights. Global Privacy Control does not enable optional storage; because ExcelPal does not sell or share data for targeted advertising, there is no such processing to opt out of.
lets you withdraw optional device-storage permission as easily as granting it. Withdrawing does not affect processing already completed or necessary account functions.
Children and sensitive information
ExcelPal is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and remove it when required. Avoid entering government identifiers, health information, passwords, complete payment-card details, or other unnecessary sensitive data into workbooks you share with the assistant.
